Funerals & Memorials

What We Offer

Colebrook United Church, as a welcoming and inclusive church, is available to any family requiring assistance during a time of bereavement, including members of Colebrook United Church, their extended families and members of the wider community.  A funeral service conducted by the minister will be in the tradition of the United Church of Canada.  However, ministry personnel will consider special requests for the service to include other content or music.

When a request to conduct a funeral or memorial service is received, the minister will arrange to meet with the family to discuss details of the service. At that time, information can be gathered to prepare prayers, music and scripture selections and the minister and the family together can discuss how the remembrances and/or eulogy will take place.

An order of service may include:
Call to worship
Hymns/Special music
Scripture Readings

The minister of Colebrook United Church will perform all funeral and memorial services, and will contact the family with respect to all matters relating to the service.
The pianist of Colebrook United Church will play at funeral or memorial services if available.  Other requests may be made through the Worship Ministry.
